La palabra «Brujería» ha sido objeto de reinvindicaciones por parte de los activistas en Wica, Wicca y el Neo Paganismo, pero aún no logra su lugar de respeto, mantiendose la malinterpretación por la comunidad judeo-cristiana, la cual al ser mayoritaria con todas sus variantes, estos entienden la palabra enunciada como negativa o satánica. ( La postura judeo cristiana, en la edad media a través de Saint Columbanus, estableció que los Dioses europeos eran siervos del Diablo y por ende estos eran Demonios a su servicio, y los practicantes de estos dioses se les conocía como brujos y su arte la brujería, razón por la cual aún en la actualidad se considera despectivamente a los creyentes de estos dioses como : Idólatras, Paganos, Heréticos, Infieles, Satanistas, etc )

La palabra Wica y Wicca han sido traducidas como «Brujería» por muchos autores, y muchos se han auto-reconocido como Brujos/as; pero desde Gerald Gardner, se conoce que la palabra «Wica» significa «Personas Sabias», es decir, Sabiduria Ancestral, y a los que la practican se les conocía como «Sabios».
The word Wica and Wicca have been translated as «Witchcraft» by many authors, and many have self-recognized as Witches, but from Gerald Gardner, known that the word «Wicca» means «Wise People», in this way, Ancient Wisdom, and the practitioners were known as «Wise» or «Sage».
La publicación de “La Brujería Hoy” ( Gerald Gardner ) en 1954, en el capítulo 10: “¿Qué son Witches(brujos/as)?”. dice:“¿Qué son ellos, entonces? Son las personas que se llamaban a sí mismas ‘Wica’, las “personas sabias” que practicaban los ritos de antiguas eras y que, junto con mucha superstición y conocimiento de herbolaria, preservaron la enseñanza oculta y trabajaron procesos que ellas mismas consideraron magia o brujería.”
The 1954 publication of Witchcraft Today ( Gerald Gardner ), in Chapter 10 ‘What are Witches?’ said:‘What are they then? They are the people who call themselves the Wica, the «wise people», who practise the age‑old rites and who have, along with much superstition and herbal knowledge, preserved an occult teaching and working processes which they themselves think to be magic or witchcraft.
Por lo que hemos realizado la consulta a Raymond Buckland para re-nombrar la traducción de la palabra «Wica» que es «Brujería» por su otro significado «Sabiduría», obteniendo su aprovación a este cambio.
So we made the inquiry to Raymond Buckland to re-name the translation of the word «Wicca» as «Witchcraft» using the other meaning «Wisdom» and we obtained his approval to this change.
De aquí en adelante cuando nos refiramos a Seax Wica entenderemos su traducción como Sabiduria Sajona.
From now on when we refer to Seax Wica understand its translation as Saxon Wisdom.
